hue

In HSL, hue is the first component and represents the type of color as a degree on the color wheel

• 0° is Red
• 120° is Green
• 240° is Blue
• 360° is Red again

It's a continuous spectrum, so values between these give you intermediate colors. So somewhere in between 240° and 360°, say 270° ish

Astute browsers of my site might have noticed that every time text is highlighted, it changes color! The hue rotates through the color wheel at 12° per second.
